Marketing Manager

We are Sweden’s leading distributor of theatrical film – marketing and releasing around 25 films each year. In 2023 we’ll have the pleasure of working with titles such as Super Mario, Mission Impossible 7, and Oppenheimer. Do you want to be part of marketing these big Hollywood movies on the Swedish cinema market?

As Marketing Manager, you will lead UIP’s Swedish marketing team in a forceful and ambitious way. On top of leading and developing your staff, you will also oversee the marketing of all our movies. You will need to demonstrate great understanding of the various target audiences within entertainment and apply this knowledge in both marketing and media. Your work is both strategic and operational as you plan and market many films in the Swedish market through innovative and cost-effective solutions. You report to the Swedish General Manager and work in close collaboration with the media departments at Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures in London/USA.

Sample tasks

  • Strategically plan, develop, and oversee full marketing plans for all the titles from our two studios (Paramount and Universal).

  • Lead the marketing team, managing four staff.

  • Drive and develop all marketing, PR, and media.

  • Use business intelligence, analysis of target audiences, and marketing trends for the local market to, in collaboration with the General Manager and Sales Manager, give recommendations for hard-hitting marketing initiatives.

  • Daily liaising with our advertising and media agencies.

  • Plan, monitor, and assess the effectiveness of campaigns together with our media agencies. Hold annual media negotiations.

  • Present budgets and media investments for approval by senior management in USA and London. Update senior management on the progress of marketing activities and report on the results of campaigns. Implement studio strategies.

  • Participate in international meetings with our studios 3-4 times per year.

Who you are

To succeed in the role, you need to be an innovative and good communicator who is constantly striving to develop our marketing and ensure positive publicity. You are a driven, dedicated, and perceptive team player who is flexible enough to adapt to changing plans. You set clear expectations and are a smooth negotiator who is willing to challenge traditional ways of thinking. You want to grow and see others develop, and you possess the ability to enthuse and lead your marketing team. You need to be organised and have an eye for detail. Last but not least, you have an interest in film and have an understanding of the world of entertainment and culture.

Your qualifications

  • You have a relevant degree or diploma in marketing/communication from Berghs, Hyper Island, university or equivalent.

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience from a similar role with leadership and experience of media planning, preferably within film/entertainment.

  • You are a strong communicator both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English.
